Our messaging policy

What you're agreeing to when you check the "Send me SMS" box on our signup or booking forms — and how to opt out anytime.

Plain English summary

If you check the "Send me SMS updates" box at signup or booking, FleetEatsNow will text you about your bookings. That's it. We don't send marketing or promotional SMS. We don't share your number. You can opt out anytime by replying STOP.

If you don't check the box, you won't get any SMS from us — your account/booking still works fully via email. SMS is optional.

How you opt in

You can only receive SMS from FleetEatsNow if you take an explicit affirmative action to enable it. There are two places this can happen:

1. Truck owner signup — at fleeteatsnow.com/list-your-truck, Step 1 includes a checkbox labeled "Send me booking SMS alerts". The checkbox is NOT pre-checked; you must tick it yourself.

2. Customer booking — at fleeteatsnow.com/book, Step 3 (Your Info) includes a checkbox labeled "Send me booking SMS updates". Again, NOT pre-checked.

Either checkbox includes the full consent language inline — message types, frequency, opt-out instructions, and the fee disclaimer — so you can read it before opting in. We store your consent (timestamp + IP) per the records-of-consent requirements of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

What we send (transactional only)

Truck owners who opt in receive SMS for:

  • New booking requests (so you can accept/decline within 2 hours)
  • Customer cancellations
  • Stale-booking nudges (if a booking sits pending too long)
  • Payout notifications (post-event)
  • Day-before event reminders

Customers who opt in receive SMS for:

  • Booking request received confirmation
  • Truck accepted your booking confirmation
  • Day-before event reminder with truck contact info
  • Refund notifications (if applicable)

We do NOT send: marketing or promotional SMS, third-party offers, weekly newsletters, ads. SMS is strictly transactional and tied to specific bookings on your account.

Message frequency

Frequency depends on your booking activity:

  • Truck owners: typically 2–8 messages per booking (request, accept follow-ups, nudges if you don't respond, day-before reminder, payout notification)
  • Customers: typically 3–5 messages per booking (received, accepted, day-before reminder, any refund updates)

No SMS goes out unless there's a real event tied to a booking. If you have no booking activity in a month, you receive no SMS that month.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any FleetEatsNow SMS — your number is added to our opt-out list immediately and you'll receive a confirmation reply. After that, no more SMS will be sent to your number from our toll-free line (+1-866-577-3085) regardless of new bookings or activity.

If you opt out then change your mind later, reply START to the same number to opt back in.

Alternative: email booking@fleeteatsnow.com and we'll remove your number from SMS within 24 hours.

Opting out of SMS does NOT cancel your account, your bookings, or your access to FleetEatsNow. You'll continue receiving all important notifications via email.

Message and data rates

FleetEatsNow does not charge you anything for SMS — there's no per-message fee from us.

However, your mobile carrier may charge you standard messaging and data rates per the plan you have with them. We can't see or control those charges. Check with your carrier (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) for specifics.

SMS support is currently US-only via our toll-free line +1-866-577-3085. International numbers cannot receive our SMS at this time.

Privacy + data handling

We do not share, sell, or rent your phone number. Your number is used exclusively by FleetEatsNow (and its SMS infrastructure provider, Twilio) to deliver the transactional messages you opted in for.

Your number, opt-in/opt-out timestamps, and message content are stored in our database for compliance audit purposes (TCPA + carrier compliance). You can request deletion by emailing booking@fleeteatsnow.com; we'll comply within 30 days subject to legal retention requirements.
